“Real estate is serious business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun while doing it.”

A dynamic real estate market calls for a seasoned agent who’s not afraid to challenge the status quo. As co-owner of Domus Realty, Dawn brings a strategic, problem-solving mentality to every deal: “I take pride in what I do,” she says. “I’d never sell a house just for the sake of it—I find creative solutions to match the right clients with the right home.”

Dawn comes by her passion for real estate honestly. Growing up in a construction family, she admired her father’s commitment to quality builds, and later worked as a carpenter herself. Though she’s always considered Nova Scotia home, Dawn has lived on both coasts of Canada (and a few provinces in between), which helped her appreciate different market conditions and architectural styles. Now, with more than 15 years of real estate sales experience—as well as courses in appraisal and ethics through the Real Estate Institute of Canada, and the world-renowned Negotiation and Leadership course at Harvard University—she’s uniquely qualified to identify homes with good bones and great layouts, finessing the best possible price.

Dawn credits her lasting client relationships and frequent referrals to the skills she developed while playing for the National Women’s rugby team, even representing Canada at the World Cup. “My time as an elite athlete taught me to read people quickly and make connections,” she says. Those same qualities served her well on the Board of Directors for Rugby Canada, and as a Regional Director for the Nova Scotia Association of Realtors.

“I always put my clients first and make sure they come out on top,” Dawn says of her philosophy. “But more than that, I love houses and understand what ‘home’ means to people. It’s not about just owning something, it’s the community you create around it.”
